Picture pasting a long instruction into the prompt box. You right-click the input field and nothing happens. No menu, so no Paste.
A thread on the Antigravity forum describes exactly this. Reading it, I realized how often I reach for the right-click menu without thinking, for pasting and copying alike. When that door disappears, your hands simply stop.
Here is the short answer first. Going by the reports, the fastest workaround is to check whether the keyboard shortcuts still work. As of October 20, 2026, when I read the thread, I could not find an official cause or fix.
What the forum thread reports
I am listing only what the thread says. I have not reproduced any of this myself.
- The environment is Windows, in the standalone desktop app. The reporter added that it is not specific to the VS Code extension
- Versions 2.12.2 and, later, 2.13.0 are mentioned
- Right-clicking in the input field and in the conversation list opens no menu. The three-dot button on a conversation still works
- Right-click worked before; the reporter says it stopped after a PC crash
- Reinstalling, clearing caches and starting with a clean user-data profile did not help
The key detail is that the three-dot button still works. The menus themselves are not gone; only the right-click entrance seems not to reach them.
What I'd try first
None of this is technical. Each step takes about a minute.
1. Do the same thing from the keyboard
These are standard Windows shortcuts, which often work even when an app's right-click does not.
- Cut: Ctrl + X
- Copy: Ctrl + C
- Paste: Ctrl + V
- Select all: Ctrl + A
- Paste (alternative): Shift + Insert
Put the cursor in the input field and press Ctrl + V first. If the paste goes through, you can keep working.
What I could not confirm is whether every one of these works in this app. The thread does not report the shortcut results either. If they fail, move on.
2. If pasting fails, try clipboard history
Windows opens a clipboard history with Win + V. Picking from it is a different path from the app's right-click. Whether it reaches the Antigravity input field is untested on my side.
3. Use the three-dot button for conversations
Actions such as renaming or deleting a conversation, normally reached by right-click, were reported to work from the three-dot button.
Is it only this app?
Three checks narrow down where the problem lives.
- Right-click in Notepad or a browser text field and see whether a menu appears
- If it does, the problem is in Antigravity rather than Windows. If it does not, look at your mouse settings or the OS first
- Inside Antigravity, try both the input field and the conversation list, and note which one fails
The reporter's symptoms began after a PC crash. If that rings a bell, remembering roughly when it started will help whoever reads your report.
About the temporary launcher
The reporter built a temporary launcher that adds a context-menu handler at startup without modifying the installed app, and the editing menu came back. Starting the app normally brings the symptom back.
It is an interesting approach, but I would not suggest it to anyone who doesn't write code. It touches the startup path, so it may break with every update, and trying it without being able to trace what is happening is something I'd rather avoid.
What to write on the forum
While the official side is quiet, reports from people with the same symptom are the only trail. Five points are enough.
- Your OS and its version
- Your Antigravity version
- Where right-click fails: input field, conversation list, editor
- Whether the keyboard shortcuts work
- When it started, and whether anything triggered it
In what I read, the thread showed no official reproduction or planned fix. Adding the shortcut results alone would give readers much more to work with.
Limits
Three limits apply to this note.
- The symptom is reported on Windows. Whether macOS is affected is unknown
- I could only confirm reports for 2.12.2 and 2.13.0; whether it persists in the latest version is unchecked
- The thread does not say whether the cause is the PC crash or an app bug
When one entrance is blocked, other paths to the same place usually remain. Try Ctrl + V first, and leave a short note with the result so the next person who lands here has something to go on.
If your settings or extensions got tangled along the way, restoring settings and extensions may help, and the four-step MCP connection triage covers connection problems. As an indie developer working on a Mac, I cannot reproduce a Windows symptom here, so I would welcome corrections from anyone who can.
